Through rhythm and experiential learning we create unity, build high performing teams within our units and departments, open communication amongst staff members and peers and defining the true leader within ourselves. We can develop strong leadership skills by anticipating the rhythm of change in all of us. The drum circle experience allows all individuals from top level management in organizations to share our bliss, passion and always play on the edge of life!
Every participant within the rhythm circle will have an opportunity to lead. A facilitator is like a conductor of a symphony orchestra who may not know how to play all the instruments in his orchestra, yet through conducting must develop the skill as well as the knowledge to guide the players through the rendition of a musical piece effectively and harmoniously from the beginning to the end. Other qualities will emerge as the leader will begin to take ownership, motivate and direct the performance of the group so that each participant by the end of the rhythm circle will feel accomplished and renewed sense of determination and vitality.
We North Americans starting to rebuild and redevelop our relationship with the drum as a tool for unity and self care and direction. It is through group rhythm allows us to bypass any perceived differences we might have of each other and develop a strong sense of purpose and leadership in times of chaos.
Personal Resiliency in Challenging Times
The drum circle is really about creating personal renewal and growth in relationships. It is about anticipating the rhythm of change. The synergy of the circle enhances concentration, focus and growth for personal development. When we experience personal renewal inside of a rhythm based event, people come together to alter their state of being and support each other in their personal growth process. The group evolves and so does their intentions and potential for rejuvenation.
Each instrument has a unique sound that contributes equally to the musical space. Each voice in the circle has a distinct contribution to the patterns and the rhythm that is being created. Just as one voice matters, one vision contributes to the whole entity and makes a difference within teams, departments and the organization.
Rhythm is a universal language. It renews and refreshes a person at their core. Group rhythm allows us to bring a common framework and common purpose where we can share our self-expression. The rhythm based experience allows individuals to stretch beyond their limiting beliefs and creates opportunities for each player to stretch beyond their natural abilities so that personal transformation, resiliency and healing takes place through self-confidence, perseverance, knowledge and newly acquired skills.
