Susan Sommers is one of Canada’s leading experts in marketing and media relations, as well as an award-winning journalist, marketing consultant, trainer, and speaker. Susan has provided outstanding marketing strategies, programs, and training to clients across North America since 1982.

Susan’s most recent book, Building Media Relationships, was published by Irwin Publishing in April, 2002. Her popular workbook for non-profits, Media Wise, was published by United Way of York Region in 2002.  As a journalist, Susan has written weekly columns and articles for The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, Toronto Life, and produces Canada’s Internet newsletter.

As a leading marketing strategist and consultant, Susan has developed innovative communications’ plans, publicity campaigns, materials, and new identity programs, promotional materials, and special events for such clients as Olympia & York, The Toronto Blue Jays, Queen’s University, The Second Cup, United Way, McClelland & Stewart Ltd., Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Volunteer Centre of Toronto, The Yoga Studio, Forever Plaid, and Matinee Fashion Ready-to-Wear.

Susan earned a Masters Degree from Columbia University, a Bachelor of Science Degree from Syracuse University, and a Public Relations Certificate from the University of Toronto. In 2002, she co-founded the Toastmaster’s International Markham Sweet Talkers chapter.
