Lesley Barmania ~ Partnering for the "Perfect Fit"

Lesley Barmania has over 25 years of experience in human resources management, both in generalist and specialist areas.  An innovative, strategic thinker, she is recognized for her strong project management skills and the ability to successfully initiate and implement new projects within critical time constraints.  Lesley is a skilled facilitator, and is certified in both Emotional Intelligence – Baron EQi method, and the Herrmann Brain Dominance Indicator (HBDI).  Additional competencies include strong performance consulting, design, communication and leadership skills.  She is service oriented and an avid developer of people and teams.

Lesley’s experience spans diverse industries – Financial Institutions, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Communications, Distribution, Retail and Airline, and she has held several management positions specializing in Learning and Development, Equity and Diversity, Competency Development and Call Centre Operations. Her experience includes work with:

In 1992, upon joining CIBC, Lesley spearheaded the competency modeling process for various internal client groups to promote individual and organizational learning, the largest client group being the branch network with 23,000 employees.  By the time she left, nearly 80% of CIBC’s 43,000 employees had access to competency models to assist with individual development, career and succession planning.  She is considered an “expert” in this discipline and has presented at various international conferences in the U.S. and Canada, including The Conference Board, New York, The Institute for International Research, The Canadian Institute, OSTD and The Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation.

 She has been consulting since 1989 and transitioned from a corporate career into her own consulting business full-time.  Since then, she has worked on a World Bank project in Moscow, Russia, and has provided a variety of consultative services for national and international organizations including: CIBC Trade Finance, CIBC Insurance, Clarica, The Prudential Company of America (New Jersey), AstraZeneca, Bell Nexxia, Travel Industry Council of Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, Supply Chain Management, Rogers Communications, C1 Communications, St. Michael’s Hospital, Providence Centre and Riverdale Hospital. 

During her career, she has been appointed to several committees including the Air Transportation Association of Canada and the Advisory Committee for the Peel Board of Education.
