Brenda Jean Lycett ~ Partnering for the "Perfect Fit"

Previously, as the Manager, Employment, in the telecommunications industry, Brenda's expertise included raising awareness through training programs on human resources management, employment equity and diversity. She developed partnerships with community non-profit organizations, government and educational organizations:

  • A quote of hers' was in the Human Resources Development Canada online accommodation training "Workplace Accommodation, Opening Minds & Opening Doors to People with Disabilities".
  • Her efforts for contributing to employment of people with disability have received recognition from community organizations.
In 2002 Lycett took the opportunity to begin her private practice following the downsizing of her position as Manager, Workplace Diversity, in the private sector.

Her consulting services help employers to develop and retain diverse staff within the company, as well as support staff in transition through coaching. Brenda uses her extensive human resource expertise to improve employee relations for general human resources issues such as absenteeism, hiring, retention and downsizing.

Brenda has delivered presentations and training to private, public, not for profit, healthcare and educational sectors in union and nonunion environments. Her belief is that transferable learning increases when employees are having fun and various learning styles are taken into consideration!

Brenda's unique work experiences in union/non-union, manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare, educational and financial environments provide various dimensions to her consulting skills. Brenda is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) who has provided training services to a range of clients including LCBO, Ministry of Community & Social Services, Ministry of Child & Youth Services, Seneca College, Work on Track, SMART Inc., PPG and Motorola Canada.

Her expertise as a trainer is also to develop management and human resources staff as 'trainers' as well as training facilitation for employees. Participation on global training committees required critique of material and suggestions for improvement. Expertise in specialized areas and human rights was used to 'Canadianize' Global training initiatives to ensure compliance with Canadian law and culture.

Lycett has received recognition as "Woman of The Month" and for her contribution to the employment of people with disabilities. Her workplace articles on employment issues have been published in human resources and business magazines.
